About Myself!

I initially got the idea to start a blog about my healthy/fitness journey as a way to hold myself accountable. After talking to a few of my friends, I realized how much of an impact I had on their journey just by sharing my own. So, here we are.

Just a little about myself and where I am on my journey.

I am a 3rd grade teacher, daughter, wife, and mother of a 4 year old son. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with our second son. I got on this healthy/fitness journey about 2 years ago when I realized that 2 years after the birth of my son I was unhappy with my body, energy levels and myself (in general). I started attending group fitness classes (Zumba, BodyPump, BodyFlow, BodyStep and CX Works) in my town. I cut out the junk and started making better food choices. I couldn't believe how awesome I felt in terms of energy and confidence.

Then we were pregnant again. I have maintained a 3 day a week workout schedule of BodyPump, BodyFlow, and Zumba. I contribute my continuous fitness to the fact that I have only gained 20 pounds and feel great.

I have my post-baby plan in place. I will document my journey through the 21-Day Fix. I am super excited about the new program. Its so simple that you think why didn't I come up with this. I will provide a program breakdown along with my first impressions and my experiences being a Beachbody Coach.

If you get one thing our of reading my blog, it's this: You can be a wife, mother, teacher (insert your profession) but its important to take time for yourself. It doesn't make you a bad wife, mother or professional. Reason #1 - you deserve it because, let's face it, life is stressful. Reason #2 - majority of the time we are the glue that holds our family together and keeps things running smoothly.

Fitness for me has become my go-to therapy where I can release my frustrations with my job (sometimes husband...LOL) and get that quiet time, that for mothers, can be hard to find.

I have received my 21-Day Fix Challenge Pack in today. I will take a few days to read and absorb. I will report back to ya'll over the weekend to give you my initial thoughts.
